Text by Dave Moorman
Once again, the People of Liberty
bring you news and views from around
the globe. Fifteen issues! What a
record for a C-64 Diskzine!
Soon after Fender Tucker joined
Softdisk (the "inventors" of the disk
magazine), Dan Tobias gave him some
good advice: "Get familiar with the
IBM. The C-64 is already history!"
Well, Fender made some history
himself, taking LOADSTAR where no
other disk periodical has gone before
-- in quality, breadth, and longevity.
Along the way, we have welcomed all
newcomers. Some have proved resilient
-- and Scene World is one of the
slickest.
What surprises me is that the
various Demo Scene disk mags have not
carried software. The disk format is
excellent for text, but [perfect] for
programs. But this is just my own
parochial perspective. What Scene
World does is really quite fantastic
-- gathering news and information from
all over and presenting it in a nice,
classy format.
Well done, Joerge et al!
